Primary purpose of the role

The Product Engineer Intern facilitates the development of software, web, and multi-media applications to enable the successful delivery and reengineering of products that achieve business and product outcomes and improves business efficiencies and processes through leveraging technology.

Key accountabilities

  • Prepare and maintain specialised code as required by the product definition to enable application development
  • Contribute technical expertise to requirements analysis to enhance the quality of the solution design
  • Engage with stakeholders including product managers, designers and clients to deliver software
  • Complete testing and gather feedback to improve the quality and reduce operational risk of the developed application
  • Provide application support and problem resolution to minimise the impact of application related service outages
  • Balance competing demands to ensure project objectives are achieved
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and feedback to deliver the best software for their needs
  • Adapt quickly and efficiently to changing project objectives

Key Relationships

  • Product Manager - Escalate issues, keep informed, advise and receive instructions
  • Work Team - Participate in meetings to obtain the work group perspective and share information and work collaboratively to contribute to achieving the team’s business outcomes
  • Clients/Customers - Resolve and provide solutions to issues

Role dimensions

Reporting Line

This role will directly report to a Product Owner.

Essential requirements

  • Software development experience (SDLC)
  • Strong background in Salesforce (Lightening) or Angular JS technologies
  • Strong communication skills and interest in a pair-programming environment
  • Enrolled in a BA/BS in Computer Science or related field at an Australian University, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working directly with clients, leading projects, and mentoring engineers
  • Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodology
