Responsibilities

  • Provide customer facing and over the phone support for initial fault diagnosis; liaise with customer throughout to ensure satisfactory resolution of problem.

  • Assist with Telephony System related incidents including first and second Level Support and escalations to vendor as required.

  • Run and/or assist with fortnightly Company Wide Video Conferences and ad-hoc meetings including: bring together presentations, preparation of conference rooms, testing and Live Broadcast.
  • Maintain records of all incidents and problems through ticket management system such as JIRA.
  • Provide Hardware and Software Fault Diagnosis and support for internal Computers.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Some experience in PC Hardware configuration utilising imaging software.
  • Experience supporting LAN', PC operating systems and desktop software.

This is an opportunity for a creative student to join our team for a 12 month internship in Sydney.

Our Designers are makers and storytellers that use design to bring ideas to life. They lead projects into uncharted creative territories. They’re design fundamentalists, but approach projects with rational and innovative mindsets. They extend visual language, always mindful of how it looks and how it works. This discipline is focused on creating branded trans media stories and content that people want to engage 365 days a year. The design discipline brings the art of succinctly telling a story to a customer within the IBM Design Thinking process, craft stories and build brands through campaign level thinking and execution. You will help build complex systems and experiences from dynamic interfaces to large systematic websites. You’ll collaborate with other disciplines to execute the visual portion of a project.

As a contributor to the team, you'll share knowledge and collaborate with your team to address ambiguous, complex problems and projects. You'll apply IBM Design Thinking and methods to uncover user and business requirements in the context of the technical landscape; while evaluating the effectiveness and adequacy of existing/proposed solutions. It is expected that you will work with senior team members to establish priority, fidelity and delivery of tasks.

Participates in discussions and presentations for both working and delivery purposes. Possesses the skills required to collect, reflect and take action on feedback from stakeholder interactions, design validation sessions and playbacks. Able to support your design decisions with qualified rationale. You must be able to negotiate and evolve the design with more senior designers to explore possible solutions that will be upheld in the delivered product.

Environment: Absorbs design direction quickly to produce consistency as they apply design to products and hardware around the world. Learns new skills quickly to adapt to solve problems. Is empathetic and attune to users' needs, motivations, and behaviours. Has hands-on skills in tools meant for rapid prototyping, system diagramming, visual design layout and presentation.

Communication/Negotiation: Negotiates within a highly collaborative environment in order to deliver user experiences. Understands the client' brand, and can articulate the personality of an idea within the client' brand. Seeks out interactions with development and business to collaborate in order to elevate the overall solution. Provides ideas and options to design team.

Problem Solving: Makes inquiries across functions to root out the nature of a problem and analyses the opportunities they present. Prepares and presents multiple options for solving the problems. Learns to recognise processes that contribute to cognitive load and cognitive barriers for the user, while making plans to resolve the complexity. Creates quick prototypes to test hypothesis and quickly iterates to develop the exploration of a concept.

This is an opportunity for a technical student to join our team for a 12 month internship in Sydney.

The Developer Intern will be working in the confluence of marketing and product development on experiences that span physical and digital space. We’re looking for developers with a passion for building simple user interfaces on top of complex systems. The ideal candidate contributes not only to the code but also to the entire product vision. Developer interns know and love good design patterns while having a demonstrated comfort with the command line. Candidates should have a strong technical foundation, but also a willingness to wear multiple hats, and a strong, sustainable drive to bring constant improvement and deliver high-quality, integrated software.

This position requires both a mastery of the hands-on aspects of web interface and / or mobile engineering, as well as an ability to design solid front-end architectures that integrate with other systems and technologies, & the ability to communicate these solutions to other members of the team both verbally & in written documentation.
Day-to-day responsibilities include contributing to the delivery of digital solutions: the hand coding of web-based applications, web pages, emails, and mobile experiences; integrating your code with other technologies (Web Services, client back-end systems, content management systems, etc.); optimising performance of applications; and working with visual designers, interaction designers and software engineers.

The ideal candidate has:

    • A curiosity and excitement for new web technologies / techniques.
    • A strong passion for development as a mix of art and science.
    • Extensive experience in hand coding, no WYSIWYG coding.
    • Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions.
    • Practical understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
    • Experience using JS Frameworks (jQuery, NodeJS, MooTools, YUI, etc.)
    • Ability to develop against a variety of web architectures and services (HTTP, SOAP, REST, etc.)
    • Knowledge of a scripting language (Ruby, Perl, Python, BASH, etc.)
    • Writing well-formed, unobtrusive JS with scalability and extensibility in mind.
    • Knowledge/ experience with front-end performance optimization (YSLOW standards).
    • Experience working with AJAX and services/ API's to serve up dynamic and data-heavy content
    • Experience working with iOS and Android.
    • Experience with source control (SVN, GitHub, or Mercurial).
    • Excellent time management, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
    • Ability to follow technical specifications and production processes.

The role of the Copywriter Intern is to conceptually imagine the future for clients in different industries and must be able to work comfortably with people from different creative disciplines. This discipline is focused on creating branded trans-media stories and content that people want to engage with 365 days a year. The copywriting discipline brings the art of succinctly telling a story to a customer within the IBM Design Thinking process. The copywriter is responsible for simplifying ideas as well as sharpening brand stories, which gives a customer context at the right time and place in an omni-channel world. The Copywriter Intern will be part of a cross-functional team that typically includes a product owner (team lead), a scrum master (agile project lead) or producer (project lead), information architects, designers, strategists and / or developers.

Environment: Absorbs conceptual direction and quickly iterates to develop the exploration of a concept. Learns new skills quickly to adapt to solve problems.
