Fellow and Honorary Life Member of the ACS, Prof Bob Northcote passed away in March in 2008 leaving behind a legacy that includes establishing formal ACS membership standards and the accreditation of computing and ICT courses over a 15 year period. In his honour a perpetual scholarship fund has been set up for South Australian members of the ACS to undertake the CPE Program.

The ACS CPEP a world class curriculum of professional development and training set within the context of an individual’s work environment. It seeks to grow professionals into leaders and provide a key point of differentiation in the competitive ICT market.

The Program comprises three core subjects and one elective:

Core:
Business, Legal and Ethical Issues; Business, Strategy and IT and New Technology Alignment

Electives:
Adaptive Business Intelligence; IT Service Management; Project Management; Green Technology Strategies and Enterprise Architecture, Organisational Change Management and Business Process Improvement (using Lean Six Sigma).

Three scholarships will be awarded each year, one in every study period, covering half the costs of the full program for each scholarship winner ($1500 in total). The criteria for the scholarship is the aplicant must have at least 18 months of work experience and be a current financial member of the South Australian branch of the ACS.

A current CV and a short covering letter providing reasons why the applicant should be awarded the scholarships are also required. The scholarship is designed specifically for early career professionals not already studying in the CPe Program.

Study Period 3, 2010 runs from 12 September to 11 December 2010 and enrolments close 5 September 2010.andnbsp; Scholarship applications should be received no later than 31 August 2010.


This scholarship is only for members of the ACS South Australian branch and is only available to members who are MACS or MACS Provisional level who have at least 18 months work experience in the ICT industry.
