Role Description

Work primarily as a software developer within the Sydney business unit, reporting to a Team Lead. The candidate will be participating in the graduate rotation program between the Development, Test and Support teams every few months. It is expected the candidate to demonstrate solid technical skills, being able to work in a team, execute assigned tasks, escalate any issues to the Team Lead, show a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Requirements:

  • Web Development exposure (HTML, JavaScript, XML)
  • Database knowledge – Relational model, SQL – Oracle exposure is a plus, not essential
  • Programming language – Java – JSE and JEE
  • Understanding of multi-tiered application architecture
  • Comfortable with MS Office applications (Word, Excel)

Role Description

First Data - ITSM Analyst Scholarship role - Sydney, NSW Role Description

ITSM Analyst ITSM (IT Service Management) is a highly critical function in First Data' Global Infrastructure Operations department that helps First Data maintain and provide high-class service quality to our clients. ITSM Analyst will assist in Problem management, Change management, and Capacity planning & analysis for the APAC region (ANZ, India, China, and Korea) in accordance with First Data' established processes.

Tasks

  • Conduct PIR & PRA (Post Incident Review, and Problem Review & Analysis) in a timely manner through meetings with Incident Management, and technical teams to analyse Incident Root causes, agreeing on action items, and assigning Problem records in the CA ServiceDesk tool (ServiceDesk training will be provided).
  • Drive Continuous improvement - Extended thinking (beyond current problem/issue) to ensure similar other problems are prevented. Assess other contributing factors apart from Root cause that may lead to a problem or incident.
  • Ensuring Problem Records are updated in ServiceDesk by assignees, and closed off upon completion.
  • Track Problem trends – increase/decrease in number of incidents – compared to previous year.
  • Reporting – Weekly & Monthly reporting on Problems resolved & outstanding, and updating Management review dashboards.
  • Analysis & reporting on APAC Change statistics (country-wise breakdown of number of Changes implemented, success rate%, etc.).
  • Assist in Capacity Planning & Analysis.
  • Collect and collate System resource utilisation data provided by various infrastructure & application teams.
  • Establish correlation between transaction volumes, and resource utilisation for a given application/platform.
  • Prepare Capacity plans.

Required skills/ knowledge
