    The Role

    Your role as our Data Analyst Intern helps fulfil key reporting requirement of a large scale e-commerce function, the reports address broad areas of the business including consumer, operational, financial & web analytics data. An important function of the role is to maintain an existing library of reports and the underlying reporting framework. Exciting opportunities exist to further develop the reporting framework to generate cross functional insights.

    Your key responsibilities will include the following:

    • Creation and maintenance of in depth reports to add value and insights to operational & consumer centric business initiatives
    • Distribution of scheduled and ad-hoc report requests from a variety of business stakeholders
    • Maintain data quality by designing, executing or managing appropriate test scripts
    • Data extraction, manipulation & analysis for the purpose of migration or reconciliation
    • Tableau dashboard development and report automation
    • Data centric system enhancements including clarifying & documenting business requirements
    • To carry out and implement new targeting models using appropriate data techniques
    • Support Advertising Sales development by the delivery of best practice solutions in use of data to identify new business opportunities
    • Interpret and communicate results from data analysis as recommendations to internal customers of varying levels of data literacy
    • Standardise, design and deliver regular customer reports to track and analyse customer behaviour and Key Performance Indicators

    The Person

    As our Data Analyst Intern you will have solid understanding/experience in one or more of these:

    1. Database interrogation using a range of software tools (e.g. SQL, CRM, Tableau, Advanced Excel)

    2. Analytics tools like Adobe.

    3. Knowledge in Business Intelligence, Big Data and web analytics products will be highly regarded.

    Mandatory Skills:

    1. A quick learner with strong communication skills.

    2. Commercially focused with the ability to translate complex data in to actionable insights.

    3. Strong in Mathematics and/or Statistics.

    The Scholarship amounts to $32k for undergraduate students and $36k for postgraduate students tax free, which will be paid fortnightly over the 12 month period based on full time work hours per week.

    Qualifications:

    Currently enrolled in a bachelor' degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Information Technology, Information Systems from an Australian University.

    Also the applicant must be prepared to enrol in a University program in order to receive scholarship payments if offered the scholarship.

    Interstate applicants must be prepared to relocate to Sydney for the role and must mention this in the cover letter.

    The IT Intern is responsible to learn art of development, operations, delivery and support of modern software applications and infrastructure. They work closely with a variety of IT roles within the nib IT Group and other disciplines in cross-functional teams to deliver fully functional systems supporting a range of business needs.

    Key responsibilities

    Application Analysis and Development:

    • By pairing with Software Developers, undertake analysis and development of nib applications in line with nib development methodology and best practice (back-end and front-end).
    • Work closely with BAs, Designers, Software Developers, QEs and DevOps as part of cross-functional teams, to understand application requirements, participate in designs of applications and implementing those designs.

    Production Support:
