The Opportunity:

We have an opportunity for a software developer to join the team based in Sydney. This is a dynamic opportunity that provides flexibility and engages in leading software development and test automation practices within the industry. 

We are looking for a proficient software developer, with a focus on release & test automation, end to end development coupled with an inquiring mind for investigation and learning. You will focus on the development and support of our platform, conducting peer reviews, constructing releases, ensuring we always have sufficient code quality, and work closely with other developers and team members to ensure test coverage and practices are observed, whilst delivering value to our customers in line with strategic objectives. A particular focus on optimizing and automating the CI/CD pipeline further is expected and ongoing collaboration and contribution to a holistic development and testing process.

Essential Job Functions will include;

  • Delivery of consistent, modern scalable coding solutions in line with best practice.
  • Contributing to continuous improvements in automation testing and continuous deployment practices.
  • Contributing to test planning and execution.
  • Planning and executing a release strategy, organizing stories for testing and release.
  • Investigating issues/bugs and performing rudimentary analysis as to the root cause and liaising with relevant stakeholders to agree a plan going forward.
  • Ensuring all deployed code has a roll-forward and rollback plan with appropriate levels of automation testing.
  • Supporting the broader team in their goals and helping them deliver, . Raising and resolving issues and opportunities that enhance the overall value of the product delivered.
  • Experimenting with new technologies and sharing findings with a broader team.

The right candidate will have:

  • Knowledge and experience in a similar role would be ideal, however, attitude and aptitude for learning will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge and Experience developing Devops IaaS, PaaS environments
  • Knowledge or Experience in source control GIT, CI/CD, Jira, C#, SQL, Cloud/AWS, WebApi/MVC
  • Interest in coding standards, architecture and Devops
  • A passion for troubleshooting and improving current processes and standards
  • Strong communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Keen interest in agile and collaboration
  • Full-stack development skills (highly desirable)

This role amounts to 38,000 tax-free for an Undergraduate student and 42,000 tax-free for a Postgraduate student working full-time for 12 months.
