About the Role

This internship is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the forefront of diagnostic innovation. As part of our Engineering/Science teams, you’ll contribute to the development of advanced microfluidic and diagnostic devices in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment. Based at our Melbourne site, you’ll work on real-world projects alongside experienced engineers and scientists, gaining exposure to cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, product development pipelines, and quality systems within a regulated industry. You’ll benefit from mentorship, cross-functional teamwork, and a supportive, innovation-driven culture that encourages fresh thinking and impact. We are looking for 2 full-time interns to support our project teams in Product Development, Process Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering.


Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the testing and assembly of microfluidic devices and components, particularly in polymer-based environments.

  • Support product development processes from early-stage concept to manufacturing implementation, by executing a range of engineering and scientific tasks.

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation.

  • Gain exposure to regulatory and quality frameworks, such as ISO 13485 and ISO 9001, relevant to product development for the diagnostics and life science industries.


Requirements:

  • Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate study

  • Strong academic performance and interest in medical technology

  • Ideally, some lab, testing, or practical engineering experience gained through internships or similar

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills

  • A collaborative, proactive team player with a willingness to learn

  • The successful candidates must be able to work full-time. Therefore, this internship may best be suited for students completing a placement year.
