Events Intern

17-week internship for $16,150 tax-free (pro-rata for part-time)

Position Summary


Reporting to the Events Manager ACT, NSW, QLD, TAS & WA, the Events Intern is responsible for assisting in the planning, preparation, and continuous improvement of events help by NECA Group (ACT, NSW, QLD, TAS & WA).


Responsibilities


  • Assist in coordinating the planning, preparation and delivery of events

  • Assist with event logistics and registrations for all NECA Group events

  • Assist in coordinating the NECA Excellence & Apprentice Awards judging process for TAS& ACT 

  • Assist with NSW based venue site inspections

  • Liaise with event suppliers/venues as required

  • Develop awards certificates and liaise with printers & framers

  • Complete all other duties as may be reasonably requested


Relationships 


  • Internal – All departments within NECA Group.

  • External - NECA members, sponsors, suppliers of service, consultants and contractors


Criteria 


  • Currently attending a higher education institution, in an undergraduate or graduate program preferably in Events, Marketing or other related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Good knowledge of basic event functions 

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines 

  • Professional in appearance, attitude and action 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. 

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 


The position holder is required to comply with policies and procedures as established and updated from time to time.
