Agilent is a multinational company headquartered in the USA, with its Marketing and Research and Development centre for Agilent Atomic Spectroscopy Instrumentation located in Mulgrave, Melbourne. Agilent is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering intern for 12 months join the Mulgrave R&D team made up of electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, & optical engineers, and chemists.


About the Role

Want to be at the cutting edge of Research and Development?

As an Intern, you will be currently enrolled at a university studying engineering, and be ready for 12 months industry experience.  Join an R&D team that is embracing leading-edge technologies to drive software and hardware solutions for Agilent's world-leading products. You will learn about multi-disciplinary problem solving, how to utilize broad engineering concepts and research techniques, while developing your technical skills, documenting your designs and conducting reviews.


Responsibilities

Tasks will include:

  • Firmware and software development

  • Using engineering principles to solve complex problems

  • Test builds, prototyping, and data analysis

  • Support the qualification of instruments

  • Support electronic engineering development


As part of the R&D team, you will be given the tools and support (including mentoring) to help develop the next generation of diagnostics products. You will also be working with other project stakeholders such as:

  • Electronic and Mechanical Engineers

  • Software engineers

  • Marketing

  • Product support

  • Chemists/applications engineers

Required Qualifications/Attributes

  • You'll need to be currently pursuing a university Bachelor or Master's degree in firmware or software engineering (or equivalent).

  • A positive, proactive approach to problem solving, willingness to learn and an eagerness to build a pioneering career in R&D are just as important.

  • To be eligible for this internship you must be an enrolled student and be available to work full time for a 12 month period.
