About the Role

This internship is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the forefront of diagnostic innovation. As part of our Engineering and Bioscience teams, you’ll contribute to the development of advanced microfluidic and diagnostic devices in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment. Based at our Melbourne site, you’ll work on real-world projects alongside experienced engineers and scientists, gaining exposure to cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, product development pipelines, and quality systems within a regulated industry. You’ll benefit from mentorship, cross-functional teamwork, and a supportive, innovation-driven culture that encourages fresh thinking and impact. As an intern at Schott, you will:

  • Work in the laboratory or workshop with scientific tools and equipment

  • Use engineering principles and scientific methods to help solve complex technical problems

  • Work on designs using CAD

  • Gain hands-on experience with medical technology

  • Support the team by conducting data analysis


Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Science/Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field

  • Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate study

  • Strong academic performance and a keen interest in medical technology

  • Basic laboratory and/or workshop skills and familiarity with scientific methods and/or engineering problem solving

  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, or statistical software) and/or CAD software or design tools

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

  • Curious, proactive, and ready to learn in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
