Role Description

The ICT Support Analyst is an important member of the ICT Team providing first class support to internal customers and supporting most corporate systems. Support within the ACS consists of an externally managed service desk and the internal level 3 support professionals. Who working together are responsible for supporting around 80 internal customers across 8 offices in Australia. The Australian Computer Society has been investing in leading technology and this position plays an important role in providing feedback to the team on various issues and customer feedback.

The IT Helpdesk Analyst is a passionate individual that CARES about, and COMMUNICATES well with people. They will enjoy the daily interaction with customers and will work well, with both our externally managed service desk and the internal IT team. They will provide timely updates in a highly professional manner and strive on a daily basis to provide the upmost quality of support to their customers.

Reporting Relationships

This role reports to the Infrastructure Systems Administrator. The IT Helpdesk Analyst will also work closely with our external service desk provider  and take instruction from ACS IT team members as required. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide an on the ground IT support for tickets referred from our externally managed service desk. Logging tickets within Remedy and providing initial fault diagnosis for any “tap on the shoulder” support requests. Liaise with customers throughout, to ensure satisfactory resolution of support requests;
  • Administration and support of users within Active Directory, O365, Skype For Business, SharePoint and other systems;
  • Assist with VOIP based Telephony System, including first and second Level Support and escalations to vendor as required;
  • Run and/or assist with organisation wide Video Conferences and adhoc meetings including but not limited to, setup of contents, preparation of conference rooms, testing and Live Broadcast;
  • Setup of new hardware, installation and setup of software such as Office and ACS applications as required. Staff induction for ACS applications. 
  • Manage and audit ACS IT Assets

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years completed Tertiary IT Qualifications from an Australian university

Experience

  • Experience in PC Hardware configuration;
  • Some knowledge supporting corporate LANs and trouble shooting conectivity issues, PC operating systems and desktop software;
  • Previous exposure with Windows Server and administration of a LAN environment would be highly desirable;
  • Experience with asset management
  • Familiarities with web authoring tools, HTML and Java.

Specific Skills

  • Applicant MUST have a high level of communication and interpersonal skills in a ICT support context;
  • Problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Report writing;
  • Ability to prioritise and control workload.

Scholarship amount for 3 months full time is $8,000 and $4,000 for part time. Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents and must be studying an IT degree from an Australian University.
