This year, we are proud to announce that we have awarded another group of bright and passionate young women who will be pursuing degrees in STEM! The Women of STEM Scholarship program, supported by industry donors, aims to increase the number and visibility of young women entering the STEM field.
We awarded our first Women of STEM scholarship of 2026 to Amelie Hampton at The Big Day In UTS on the 3rd of March. This year's Big Day In was opened by Andrew Parfitt, Vice-Chancellor & President of UTS, and The Hon Steven Whan MP, Minister for Skills, TAFE & Tertiary Education. This year we had presentations from Adobe, Google, Westpac, Microsoft and more.
About Amelie Hampton

Amelie will be studying a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honours) at The University of New South Wales. She has relocated to Sydney from the South Coast in Kiama where she grew up to pursue her passion of STEM. Her interest in STEM grew from participating in hands-on experiences such as UNSW SciX Summer School where she studied water purification. With her degree, Amelie hopes to be a positive impact on the environment and community by working as a chemical engineer in sustainability or renewable energy, so that she can create innovative, scalable solutions to real environmental challenges.
