Rachel Cheung has received the Women of STEM scholarship at the Canberra Big Day In Conference on August 27th, 2024. The Women of STEM Scholarship program, supported by industry donors, aims to increase the number and visibility of young women entering the STEM field. Rachel is starting her studies at the Australian National University this year, with a focus on Applied Data Analytics and International Relations
Rachel developed an interest in graphics and technology when she was younger from taking IT classes and consuming various media. Before moving to Australia, her study options were limited, but with the help of her friends, father, and teachers, she was able to excel at her studies. After attending two Big Day In Events, she realized that data analytics was the best fit for her. During her time at university, she wants to explore a range of different career paths such as AI, cybersecurity, and statistical analysis.
