Hi! I’m Sadi and I am the National Marketing and Events Intern at the ACS Foundation for 2025. I started my internship in mid February 2025 and although it has only been a short amount of time, I’ve already learnt many valuable skills. My journey has been extremely busy yet so thrilling!

So far, I have helped organise and run the BiG Day In events at UTS. I have had the opportunity to meet with amazing industry leaders from Adobe, Microsoft, Google and many more. I have learnt a lot from their incredible presentations, not only about the IT industry itself but also about the workforce in general. I have been inspired as the presentations have given me an insight into different career paths.

Balancing university work, this internship and another job has been extremely busy but also so rewarding! I have learnt so many new things in a matter of some weeks and I am very excited for the things I will learn in the next 12 months.
This internship has taught me fundamental skills that I am able to apply in the workplace and in my everyday life. For example: time management, communication skills and especially public speaking! I did debating throughout high school, but nothing compares to speaking in front of 500 school kids. I have definitely improved my speaking skills and my overall confidence.
My favourite part of this job is knowing that after watching these presentations, students will have a clearer vision of the path they want to take. I remember being in high school and being so confused with what I want to do in the future. BiG Day In gives students the opportunity to talk face to face with industry leaders who can answer their questions and guide them no matter what path they want to take.
May is a jampacked month with 4 Big Day In events around the country. BiG Day In Newcastle, Darwin, Melbourne and Parramatta are all coming up and we are looking forward to seeing you guys soon!
