STEM Internships in Melbourne for 2027!

The second half of the year is always one of the most busy periods for the ACS Foundation. Around September is when two of our biggest partners in Melbourne begin opening applications for their Science and Engineering internships. This year, we're once again partnering with Schott Minifab and Agilent Technologies to assist in the recruitment of their yearly full-time 12-month internships.
Our STEM internships are exciting 12-month Work Integrated Learning placements. These internships are designed to provide far more than a typical vacation placement. Over the course of the year, you'll work as part of a team of experienced professionals, contributing to products used by scientists around the world while developing hands-on problem-solving and professional skills. The extended duration gives you the opportunity to experience the full product development lifecycle, take ownership of meaningful projects, and gain industry experience that will help launch your STEM career.
What We are Looking For
To be eligible for these internships, students must meet the following requirements:
Be able to work full-time for a duration of 12-months.
Must currently be studying a related STEM degree at an Australian University.
Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Be able to work on-site. No remote or hybrid arrangements, unless specified.
Other attributes that we are looking for include:
Initiative to get involved in extracurricular activities, casual jobs, or personal or team projects.
Personality: Outgoing, good teamwork, quick to learn, flexible.
Demonstrate the ability to work in a team or take leadership initiatives
Problem-solving, communication, presentation, self-awareness, ability to ask for help, confident, innovative & ability to think outside of the box.
Portfolio: Volunteer work, published work, personal hobbies, created documentation, student activities.
Schott Minifab

This internship is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the forefront of diagnostic innovation. As part of our Engineering/Science teams, you’ll contribute to the development of advanced microfluidic and diagnostic devices in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment. We are looking for 2 full-time interns to support our project teams in Product Development, Process Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering.
