The 2025 BiG Day In (BDI) Parramatta was hosted by Western Sydney University on 28 May at their Parramatta CBD Campus. BDI Parramatta saw 200 Year 9-12 students attend who were excited to learn more about careers in technology.
Since 2012, the ACS Foundation has run over 60 BiG Day In events with 36,500 students participating from more than 1500 schools. These full day events are tailored for students to engage in an interactive and fun way with technology companies, their products and future job opportunities.

Event Highlights
Throughout the day, students watched up to 8 presentations from industry leaders and innovators. During their breaks, students got the chance to visit exhibitor booths where they could connect with industry and ask questions. This year, students got the opportunity to watch a variety of engaging presentations from ADF Careers, Westpac Group, Google, Woolworths, Microsoft, WiseTech Global, TCS and more.
Undoubtedly, AI seemed to be the hot topic this year. During the presentation by Microsoft, students got the chance to test out the prototype for a new debate AI bot. One student showed an impressive breadth of knowledge when he gave an in-depth explanation about machine learning that shocked even the Microsoft presenters! In all other presentations, students showed eagerness and curiosity, asking so many questions during the Q&A session that mic runners had trouble keeping up with them.
Conclusion
The BiG Day In is a chance for students and the tech industry to connect and learn from each other. Each year, we are blown away by the talent, enthusiasm and knowledge displayed by the students who attend. There is no doubt that even more passionate exhibitors, presenters and students will be in attendance at future BiG Day In events to learn about the exciting and ever-changing technology industry in Australia.
