2025 Big Day In Videos Released

The 2025 Big Day In Roadshow is nearing completion. So far 10 locations have hosted events for years 9-12 high school students. Only 3 more event locations are scheduled for the remainder of the year - the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Canberra. Keynote videos and presentations from the Big Day In at UTS have now be released for the community.


WiseTech Global

In our session you’ll hear from some of our talented team who kicked off their journey to become a software developer at WiseTech. You’ll also find out how our Earn & Learn program can help you start your tech career straight out of high school, offering you paid, real-world experience while you chase your passion for technology.

Google

Ian & Harrison both work on Google Maps as Software Engineers. They’ll talk through what they do day-to-day & how they work with others to analyse & solve problems - software engineering isn’t all coding. Collaboration, soft skills & creativity are all vital to being a successful Software Engineer. Harrison graduated with a degree in Computer Science in 2019 and previously worked at Xero in New Zealand before moving to Google in 2022. Ian started at Google in 2023 as a graduate Software Engineer after completing a degree in Computer Science at UNSW.

Canstar

Join George as he shares his journey – the highs, the challenges and why this creative and fast paced field is way more than just road maps. If you love solving problems, thinking big and making an impact, this one’s for you!

Microsoft

Dan is a technology strategist at Microsoft. He works with customers to get the most out of all technology & help them look beyond the horizon. So they can plan for the future around areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Mixed Reality, Security, the Azure cloud and more. In this presentation, he will look at the current trends in skilling as well as the cool innovations that are happening now.

She studied a Bachelor of Information Systems at University of New South Wales & loves working alongside like-minded individuals, in a challenging yet nurturing environment which allows her to expand beyond what she thinks she can be.

Dr. Kitchen will explain how these skills can help you thrive in an AI-driven future and will highlight Adobe's commitment to providing ethically safe Gen AI solutions to nurture these abilities.
